We have a great passion for gilding frames. We have been perfecting the art of gilding new frames and restorations for over 30 years. We specialize in water and oil gilding 23k/12k gold, as well as, imitation gold and silver. Frames can be completely or partially gilded and we can gild matting as well.
Gilding is an intricate process that that takes years to master, even some masters have difficulties or can’t produce high quality long lasting gilds. Leaf is a very fragile material that must be applied and handled delicately in very specific conditions and orders.
There are many situations where a fully gilded or partially gilded and painted frame can make a piece of artwork. The museum aesthetics and quality are very desirable. There are a variety of ways that gilding can be incorporated into a frame, many of which can be seen in our gold and silver samples galleries.
